Didactic Instruction

• 8 Weeks of Classes
• 80 Hours Total

Didactic Schedule

• Tuesdays and Thursdays
  5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Saturdays
  8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Clinical Internship

• 200 Hours; Scheduled days and hours vary by assigned clinic

Didactic Description

During the program, students are expected to learn the following:

• An overview, principles, and equipment involved in the field of dialysis
• Care of patients with kidney failure including interpersonal skills
• Dialysis procedures and documentation
• Dialysis complications
• Water treatment, infection control, safety, medication, and nutrition
• Preceptors' basics and skills
• Preparation for the State Exam
